Ashleigh and Nate
How cute are these two? Just wanted to say, "Welcome Back, Ashleigh!" She has officially started her second year at Lee. Nate is at Samford in Birmingham, Alabama so hopefully we'll get to see him pretty often, too. Emy sure hopes so! She loves him so much. "Nate, Nate, Nate," she sings.

Bedtime Chats
Before lights out, the boys like to have "heart to heart" talks. Tonight was a very memorable one that I needed to jot down to remember for all times. Here's a little back story to help go along with what we talked about tonight:
When I picked Brayden up from school on Friday, we drove home. On the way, I asked him about school (what he did, what he ate, etc.). He tells me this," It was good, mom, but I need to tell you something very important." "Ok," I say, "Go ahead." "Well, I was sitting at my desk and I started thinking in my brain about you and here's why. I was thinking in my brain that I missed you, I missed you a lot because I love you. That's why, mom. That's why I was thinking in my brain about you, that I love you so much and that's why I don't want to go to school all day because I miss you." (HOW SWEET!) Ok, so I begin to tell him about how much I love and miss him too, but it's important for him to go to school so he can learn all kinds of things and be a scientist (what he says he wants to be when he grows up) so he can learn all the things there is to know about the job. He then tells me, "But I will miss you so much! I don't want to get married when I grow up and leave our house and family!" He starts to cry at this point and my heart breaks as I smile at his sweet innocence. I calm him down by telling him it's okay if he doesn't want to get married, he has plenty of time before he needs to think about that. He seemed okay with that response and the whole way home, I heard him trying to not cry. Ok, so below is what went on tonight.
Ashton started talking about why he has to go to bed and Mommy and Daddy get to stay up. I explained to him that when I was little, I had to go to bed to get plenty of rest and since I am an adult, I can handle staying up later now. So, that got them thinking - "Hey, you were little once?" It's funny, because it's like it just registered that we all grow up to them even though we've showed them pictures, etc. about when we were little. Ashton asked if I was a boy or girl when I was little and I explained that I have always been a girl, just like they will always be boys and Emy will always be a girl. Anyway, Brayden said that he will be a father when he grows up (he has learned that father relates to being a boy). Then, he made the "I don't want to get married and leave the family" statement. So, Ashton says, "I don't want to get married either. I just want to stay in the family and live with you guys." I tell him that's okay to do and I also tell them that if they do decide to get married, that we would be okay with that, too. Ashton tells me, "I don't think I want to get married because I don't like to kiss girls and dance." HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I about died laughing. So, end result is that my boys do not want to ever get married and they want to live with us forever, even when they get big. LOVE IT! =)

"Get in The Game" Theme Sunday
Today at church was "Get in The Game" theme. It means that we all need to get in the game of "doing" church and getting involved. After service, they had different tables set up for each ministry that they could be involved in. AWESOME! So, the theme was to wear your favorite team's jersey to church. Of course, we had to support our BENGALS! =) Here are the kids on stage, in front of the KIDSTUF props. Cute cute cute. We were the only Bengals today, imagine that! I know, strange... lol

First Days of School
Ashton's first day of school (2nd year of Pre-School) was Monday, August 6th - Happy Birthday to HEAT! Anyway, he had a great day. There is a couple boys in his class that aren't very nice to him, poor little guy. So, hopefully that will get better.
Brayden's first day of school (1st Grade) was Tuesday, August 7th. He had a great day, too. He was a little sad b/c it's all day (Kindergarten was all day, too, so he knew how long the day took) and he says he misses me so much. AW! So sad! But, his teacher is great and he really likes her. He says they get to have a celebration on the 100th day of school, so he can't wait for that. He even tells God he can't wait for it when we pray at bedtime. Hilarious.
Tony started his new job at Grace Point this week. He loves it and is very excited about everything that he gets to do. We are, too. We love the church and the people are so great. I'm getting more in touch with ladies my own age and who have kids. It's really awesome!

It's Official...
Well, it's official now. Tony is employed at Grace Point. We're so excited! He starts tomorrow morning. All of the church members stood in favor for us to be apart of the staff. Every single one of them. It was pretty moving (sniff, sniff). Thank you so much for all your prayers over this whole situation. Please continue to pray for us in this whole new chapter of our lives. Full time ministry? Never would I have thought this is where we would be when Tony and I met all those years ago. How amazing God is, right?
Today at church, they played an amazing video about a father and his 1 year old son caught in a rain storm. WOW, it's just so touching and emotional. Hopefully, we can get a copy or link to it somewhere and post it on here. It's truly awesome and what a way to describe us, during our time of trials, turning to God for guidance. AMAZING! Talking about it just doing it justice.
We have also started full-time potty training with Emy. She is doing sooo well so far! Within the past week, she has had a few accidents, but each day is way better than the one before and she stays dry all night long now. She doesn't use diapers anymore, so it's full time undies, which she understands and says everytime we put them on her, "No pee-pee?" I say, "Right, Emy, no no pee-pee." She says, "No poo-poo?" I say, "Right, Emy, no no poo-poo." "Ok," she says. And she does very good with it.
School starts tomorrow for Ashton and Tuesday for Brayden. Tax-Free weekend was this weekend for Tennessee so I was able to get school supplies at tax free, which is always nice. Theboys are pretty set on clothes so I didn't need to do any shopping there, but those are tax free as well.
Well, gotta go and get some dinner ready. Back into the swing of school schedules! Fun fun fun!
