Ashton's Last Baseball Game

Ashton's team lost their second tournament game Thursday night. It was such a great game, but so LONG because it was tied up every inning, so we had to play a 7th inning (tournaments only last 6 innings). Our game started at 8pm and finally ended at 11pm. I know... 11PM??? At about 9:30pm, all the players (on both teams) were so tired. That's pretty much why we lost the game because our defense was not what it normally was. We played this team earlier in the season and run ruled them. The game Thursday night went back and forth for most innings and we bat last. At the bottom of the 7th inning, we had 2 balls hit straight to their 1st baseman which made 2 outs for us. We were down by 2 runs, the score was 31-29. Our little girl runner on third ran home, skipped OVER the home plate (proudly) and the other team's player stepped on the plate about 2 steps after her to make her out since she never touched the plate. WE WERE ALL IN SHOCK that the game ended that way. She would have made it 31-30 and we had a good hitter up next with bases loaded. We would have made it to another inning. Who knows what would have happened after that. It was still a great, intense game. They all played hard and were just so exhausted. Ashton was upset that they lost and was angry at the other team. lol. So funny. He just loves baseball so much. He wanted the pirates to keep playing. =) Here's some pictures of him with the team, getting their trophies.

Brayden's Last Baseball Game

Here's some pictures from Brayden's last regular season game and his first tournament game. They ended up being #1 in the league, record of 12-2. The first tournament game was played Monday. I didn't bring my camera because I thought FOR SURE they were going to win. We were all surprised when they didn't and the season is now over. I got some pics from another mom of the team with their trophies. Just so sad to know how great the team was all season and to be done with it so fast and so early in the tournment!

Goofy face by Ashton

Tough and ready!

This is a typical Emy face while at the ball field. It's like she puts it on her face to have make-up on or something. Histerical.

GO PIRATES! Thanks for a GREAT season!

Our Dearest Friends

Every Thursday, we have some of our dearest friends come over and hang out. Jason & Michelle Steffenhagen and Aaron & Elizabeth Smith. We typically watch The Office and LOST. This past Thursday was the season finale of LOST as well as Jason and Michelle's anniversary. It was also the last time that we would all be together in our old house... so we had many things we were celebrating with a little sparkling grape juice. CHEERS!

Memorial Day

Memorial Day was so fun! We spent the whole day at our friends' house, the Lee's! Swimming, friends, and lots of great food. We actually stayed the entire day and didn't leave until almost 11pm! LATE night for the kiddies, but they really had a blast and were so good the whole time.

Funnel clouds came to rain on our parade... so scary!

Lots of funnel clouds!!

Emy couldn't handle it anymore and fell asleep on the couch. Ashton is acting, but he was tired, too.

Ashton's Baseball Game

Ashton had one of his last baseball games (regular season) last Thursday. Here's some pictures I took at the game. (They did end up winning the game...)

A Gift from The Lord...

Our new house! It's right across the street from the church - in a new subdivision. We're just way too excited! We hope to close at the end of next week and move in next weekend. Praise the LORD! (And, yes, Betty... we have tons of room for your clan when you come visit us next month! yay!)

A Little Truth about The War...

This is a myspace message from my friend, a soldier in Iraq who I went to high school with, sent me today. I asked him what he felt about the war... it's something that we rarely hear about. You know, feelings from the soldiers that are involved with the war more personally than anyone in the media or congress. We never hear what they think about it, only how awful it is that we are still over there and how nothing has been accomplished. Well, here's a little insight from a fellow soldier:

I would like you to know that on behalf of my guys and myself we all appreciate your support. As you said it seems that the media is against us completely. Why, we will never know. I wish that we could go back to older days and just kick their rear ends out of the country or at least limit them on what was seen. Although, you and I both know that will never happen. I just wish that they would tell more of how we have helped these people over here. Of course there will always be organizations out there that are always against us, but that is besides the point. We, the United States along with help from others that believe in better have changed this country, have helped build an economy, and have pushed out most of those that are against a true democracy. Again I would like you to know that we truly do appreciate your support. Thank you. Please take care of yourself and please stay in touch. It really has been great talking to you. Your support to our country and all of us crazy soldiers over here is a blessing, especially with all of the media that doesn't support a war on terror. I look forward to again hearing from you. Stay safe.

Ashton's Game Ball

Last week, Ashton had a double header game and received the game ball at the second game. He ha dbeen wondering why he hadn't gotten it yet if he kept doing good and getting people out and hitting well, etc. The reason why he got it was hilarious. He was at third base this time... the player hit the ball and kids were throwing it all over the place, the runner kept going to base to base. Ashton got the ball and was at the pitcher mound (even though he was supposed to be manning the third base), saw the runner going for third base and threw it to third base - but no one was there b/c HE was supposed to be there! I think we were all laughing too hard to remember if the runner went home or not. It was hysterical and the Pirates were up by quite a bit, so that run didn't matter (which was why he was on 3rd base instead of pitcher mound).
